Statement

Morgan Integrated Systems Limited is committed to promoting sustainability and the impact it has on the environment. Crucial to our commitment is the concern within the organisation for the affects of sustainability, and the impacts derived from all staff members within the organisation. It is our goal to focus attention on sustainability, promote good practice both internally and externally and in so doing, remove the impact it has on the environment. We aim to follow and to promote good sustainability practice, to reduce the environmental impacts of all our activities and to help assist our suppliers and clients to do the same.

  • To comply with, and surpass where feasible, all legislation, regulations and codes of practice that apply.
  • To integrate sustainability considerations into all aspects of the business, including external sources.
  • To promote the Sustainability Policy to all staff and the commitment to implementation and improvement.
  • To minimise the impact of office activities, transport activities, supply of services and communication on sustainability.
  • To promote the sustainability policy to all third parties, and encourage good practice adoption.
  • To annually review this policy, report and to continually strive for improvements in sustainability performance.

Adoption of Core Values

Travel and meetings

All internal meetings must be held locally to ensure travel is kept to a minimum. External meetings, site visits and services will be planned in advance to ensure best travel plans and minimum distance where applicable. All external meetings, site visits and services will be limited to the least number of visits possible.

To ensure full costs of sustainable transport is accounted for in all financial proposals, ensure that the most cost effective method is not always the chosen method over sustainability where ever possible.

Avoid physical travel when possible, making use of viable alternatives including telephone, email, VOIP, conference calling, video calling and other technologies.

To monitor all business travel and the impact on the environment.

Purchase of consumables and equipment

Minimise all use of paper with the office environment, by promoting paperless quotations, contracts, accounts where possible.

Where possible, promote the reuse of office waste, delivery waste, equipment waste, ensuring any waste that cannot be reused is correctly disposed of.

Reduce the energy consumption of office equipment by purchasing energy efficient equipment and good housekeeping.

Ensure all equipment purchased offers the best solution for energy saving, ensuring that energy saving solutions are made completely clear to clients.

Ensure suppliers commit to a sustainability policy

To promote the storage of limited consumables and loan equipment, consolidating consumables and loan equipment to enough to supply any given contract. Where possible standardising on certain equipment to ensure better coverage.

To promote the delivery of equipment to site, ensuring one way transport of equipment direct from suppliers to clients negating the need for two step deliveries.

Working practices and client advice

Undertake voluntary work for charity, community or environmental organisations. Offer free advice, time and services to these areas in order to offset impacts on unsustainable activities.

Ensure contractors adhere to a sustainability policy, clients are aware of our own policy.

Include a copy of our Sustainability Policy in all our proposals to clients.

Monitoring

In order to ensure best practices and core values are adhered to, annual monitoring is undertaken. Through this monitoring process, improvements, alterations and additions to this policy will be achieved. This process is undertaken to continually improve our commitment to the environment and sustainability.
